Yes, Doxycycline capsules can be effective in treating acne. They are commonly prescribed by healthcare professionals for moderate to severe acne cases. Doxycycline is an antibiotic that works by reducing inflammation and controlling the growth of bacteria associated with acne.
Doxycycline helps to improve acne symptoms by:
Reducing inflammation: Doxycycline has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness, swelling, and tenderness associated with acne.
Controlling bacterial growth: Acne is often caused by the overgrowth of bacteria on the skin, particularly a type of bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes. Doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby controlling the growth and spread of these bacteria.
Regulating oil production: Doxycycline can also help regulate sebum (oil) production in the skin, which is a contributing factor in the development of acne.
You should combine systemic antibiotics such as doxycycline or capsules (both contraindicated in pregnancy and children under 12 years of age) with an appropriate topical agent such as or or. You should ideally continue treatment for 3 months.

Ask your doctor if you have conditions that may need to be treated with an addition of an anti-inflammatory medication, such as acetylsalicylic acid (a medicine used to treat asthma). Doxycycline can increase the risk of anti-inflammatory drugs including aspirin becoming absorbed and reaching maximum levels in the body.
Do not take systemic antibiotics if you are allergic to doxycycline or any other components of this medicine. Before you start, ORE, you should have an anti-inflammatory or analgesic protocol (including rinsing with water and changing shoes after use) followed by an erythromycin (a medication used to treat myeloid cell growth) during treatment with Doxycycline. Weigh down your doses as per your needs as prescribed by your doctor.

This is the second week I have had a few days of anxiety about being diagnosed with acne and I have been having a few very mild and occasional side effects. However, I have managed to cope with them for most of the last week. However, I did get a new appointment with Dr. (who I know personally) and he has a pretty good idea what the side effects are and what I could do to help me. I am really sorry to hear that you are suffering and that you have a lot of side effects.

June 27, 2012, 12:58am1I am a 45 year old and have been using doxycycline for the past two months. I was diagnosed with acne in August and had several very mild side effects, including some very severe and potentially life-threatening reactions. I had no issues with the side effects that were mentioned above and did not have any side effects that I have been experiencing. The only thing that bothered me that was my acne was that my acne was more or less constant and that I was taking a lot of antibiotics at the same time.
After trying to get a prescription from the doctor, we were able to get a prescription and have the medication prescribed. The acne went away once I stopped taking the antibiotics but it did not go away. It was not a big deal at first but I had a lot of questions about it and I was worried about it.
June 27, 2012, 1:26pmI don’t have any side effects at all from my antibiotics and it is pretty mild. I took doxycycline a few days ago to see if it would have any effects. The only thing that did not make it worse was that the acne went away in a very mild and temporary way, but it wasn’t really bad at all, at least for me.
The antibiotic I took was doxycycline and my skin was very sensitive to it. I was a little bit worried that my acne would not go away, but it did and the antibiotic helped me a lot. I did not take a lot of pills to treat the acne at all but the acne was really mild and I felt much better afterwards. I did not take any medication to treat the acne, however, as the acne was gone, I would not have any issues. It was a little bit different in my case and after the first few weeks I felt a little better but still a bit less sensitive.
The antibiotics have cleared my acne completely and I am not a doctor but I did have a few side effects that have been bothering me. I am aware that antibiotics are not the cause of acne and I have taken them for a while but have not had any side effects so far. I am aware that antibiotics are a good thing, and I have been using them a few times, and it has been good for me as well. I have not had any side effects at all, just minor ones that have made me feel a little better.
The acne is not going away so the antibiotic will take a bit longer to work, but I am not too concerned about it. It is not going away but I will continue to use the antibiotics as the acne will heal itself. I will talk to my GP about the side effects but I will be sure to get the medicine on the next day and see how my acne is affected.
June 27, 2012, 2:23pmI have been taking doxycycline a few times to treat my acne and I am having some mild side effects. I took a bit of a pill and I did not notice any significant side effects at all. I am taking doxycycline at the same time every day and the acne has not improved in any way. It has not helped my acne at all.
June 27, 2012, 3:11pmI have been using doxycycline for about a year and have been getting very few side effects. I have been taking the antibiotic and a bit of a pill and have stopped taking the antibiotic. It has been good for me, but my acne has gotten worse and worse in the last week. I have been using doxycycline every day for a year so I think it will be better for me when I start this new antibiotic.
